How do you write what people actually want to read?
As a writer, my approach is fundamentally different from many of my contemporaries. You see, I do not consciously craft my words to cater to what I believe others are clamoring to read; rather, I freely express the thoughts, emotions, and ideas that genuinely resonate with me. In a world brimming with writers who mold their narratives to chase likes and comments, I find solace in the authenticity of my own voice. Many of these writers appear to prioritize popularity and social media validation over a deeper call to awaken the collective consciousness of those who may not yet recognize the issues that surround them.
Moreover, I understand and acknowledge the reality that some authors are driven by financial motivations. It’s a tough landscape for writers, and I can certainly empathize with those who choose to pursue profit, especially in a crowded marketplace that often overlooks the value of artistry. On platforms like WordPress, we encounter countless talented individuals who write purely for the love of the craft, and I extend my admiration to each and every one of them. They have chosen a path that prioritizes passion over paychecks, and that, in itself, is commendable.
When it comes to the realms of fiction and poetry, I find myself teetering on the edge of hesitation. While I know that I could, perhaps even should, attempt to weave my own stories or create verses, I confess that I often refrain from diving into those depths. My self-perceived lack of proficiency in these particular genres holds me back, even though the whispers of inspiration beckon to me. Yet, I refuse to compromise my authenticity for the sake of fitting into a mold that simply isn’t me, and so I continue to chart my own course, writing for the sheer joy it brings me, regardless of conventional expectations or external pressures to conform.
