Twilight’s Secrets: A Dance of Shadows and Revelations
by Ralph Gilbert De Jesus

In shadows deep where whispers play,
The sirens sing both and day,
With tempting tones that call my name,
Each craving stirs the soul’s own flame.
Oh, sweet allure, your grip so tight,
You shimmer soft, yet steal my light,
The cake, the drink, the fleeting thrill,
You promise joy, but leave me ill.
Yet in the dark, my spirit will never cry,
For freedom’s song can never die,
Though thorns may scratch and tempests rage,
I’ll dance upon life’s vibrant stage.
With every sip, with every bite,
I taste the edge of dark and light,
But chains of craving, hear me well,
You shan’t create my living hell.
For in the depths of yearning’s hold,
A stronger heart will break the mold,
I soar, my wings unfurled,
A wild spirit, a fierce world.
So come, dear cravings, pull me near,
With all your whispers, lust, and cheer,
But know this truth, I’ll not be tamed,
My soul’s a fire that won’t be blamed.
With every choice, I claim my ground,
In passion’s dance, true strength is found,
And though you call, I hear your lie,
My heart’s like a bird, and I shall fly.
