What’s something you used to believe as a kid that seems ridiculous now?
My poem originally published on my deleted WordPress blog, ‘Whispers of Imagination.’
In fields of emerald green they dance,
Small figures in a mystical trance,
With clovers in their tiny hands,
Guardians of enchanted lands.
Their laughter tinkles like golden rain,
Their mischief drives away all pain,
In hidden nooks they hide their gold,
A treasure trove, a sight to behold.
Their hats are tall, their coats bright green,
Their beards a wonder to be seen,
With twinkling eyes and merry smiles,
They roam the Irish country miles.
But catch one if you dare to try,
For leprechauns are quick and sly,
They’ll grant you wishes three, it’s told,
To those whose grasp can hold their gold.
So listen closely for their songs,
And seek them out where they belong,
For leprechauns, in legends old,
Are worth more than their weight in gold.
