The Duality of Self in Digital and Real Worlds

In the glass, a stranger stares,
With shadows cast and weight of cares,
Each wrinkle speaks, each line a tale,
A fleeting glimpse that feels so frail.

The phone’s bright lens, a ruthless spy,
Reflects my flaws, my heart’s soft sigh,
Yet in this frame, I’d rather hide,
Behind a smile, a world wide.

A canvas blooms with colors bright,
An avatar dances, pure delight,
A landscape lush, a sunset’s kiss,
In pixels, I find my bliss.

I paint my joy, I frame the light,
With flowers, skies, and stars so bright,
Each chosen image, a whispered song,
In this joyful space, I feel I belong.

For when I scroll through all that’s true,
The essence of me shines through anew,
Not bound by mirrors, nor harsh reflect,
But in the beauty of what I select.

So here I thrive in curated grace,
With lovely scenes, I find my place,
For in each avatar, a spark of glee,
A truer self, the one I wish to be.
